New Secure Website Address

Our parish website is now located at https://stroselima.net! Most of the pages on the previous .com website have been redirected to the corresponding .net website address. If the page you're looking for can't be found, please use our online contact form and in the comments include the exact address you're looking for, as well as the subject matter. Email addresses remain the same, using the .com at the end.

Pictorial Directory

You can make an appointment for a photo either by visiting this link: Schedule Your Photo! or after Mass by signing up for an appointment with one of our volunteers. Our sign up dates are February 25 through March 31, 2024. Pictures will be taken April 10, 11 and 12th in the Maria Parish Center. I pray that you will consider participating in the parish project. If you have any questions or if you need any assistance please contact Carole Housum at 814-937-0380. Please register as soon as possible.

Online Giving

All ... parishioners, neighbors, friends, and family ... please consider registering to use online giving, instead of weekly envelopes for contributions to our parish. This can be very convenient when you are unable to attend mass at Saint Rose. The system provides you a convenient option that you may access at any time. Your gift will be transferred from your preferred method of payment directly to our parish. There's no need to share any sensitive account information with parish staff.

This system is safe and secure, and simple. You can start, stop and change your contributions at anytime. Sign up by selecting the donations link in the top menu above. You will then be taken to system's website where you can complete the online giving registration form.

Thank you, one an all, for your new or continued support of this endeavor!

100th Anniversary Recipes and Memories

Please, submit your recipes and memories for our parish recipe and memory book. Forms can be found on the table in the gathering area. Feel free to use your own paper, if you'd like. With your help, we will be able to put together a cookbook of delicious recipes, as well as a collection of memories of years gone by, right up to the present day.

You can drop your submissions in the silver box on the table in the gathering space, email them to Carole Housum or Becky Reed, drop them in the collection basket or the rectory mail box.

We are excited to get this project under way, but we cannot do it without you.

Last call for recipes is May 1, 2024!

Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

Anointing of the Sick

If you are in need of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick because of an upcoming operation, another medical procedure, or an ongoing serious illness, please come to the front pews of the church after Mass and Father will anoint you.

Anointing of the Sick uses the Oil of the Sick, which has been blessed by the bishop during Holy Week. Contrary to popular belief, this is not just for people who are dying. It offers special graces for the soul, many of which aid in enduring unavoidable suffering, so it is appropriate for anyone who is in danger of illness.

The special grace of the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick has as its effects: the uniting of the sick person to the passion of Christ, for his own good and that of the whole Church; the strengthening, peace, and courage to endure in a Christian manner the sufferings of illness or old age; the forgiveness of sins, if the sick person was not able to obtain it through the sacrament of penance; the restoration of health, if it is conducive to the salvation of his soul; the preparation for passing over to eternal life. (From the Catechism of the Catholic Church)

If you or a loved one need anointed, please let me know either by phone or in person at Mass.

RCIA

RCIA means Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children. Christian Initiation is a spiritual journey of adults and children. It is a process by which uncatechized individuals and individuals Baptized in another Christian denomination learn about the Catholic Church. Catholic sponsors who are willing to share their faith experiences with new members and journey with them throughout the process are always needed. Those seeking to become Catholic may contact the Rectory.

Schools

Religious Education

Public School Students from grades 1 through 11 meet at Saint Rose of Lima. The 2024-2025 classes will begin, as always, the weekend after Labor Day, September 8, 2024. Classes will be held every week. Questions, contact us.

Catholic Schools

Our Parish is a supporting member of Holy Trinity Regional Catholic School, grades pre-school through five, and Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, grades six through twelve.

In the 2024–2025 school year, it is anticipated that Holy Trinity and Bishop Guilfoyle will merge into one school.

Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.
